About us:

Weipa Family Day Care Scheme provides high quality home based care and development opportunities for children in a family environment. The Scheme is highly regulated and complies with the National Law, National Regulations and Scheme policies and procedures.

The key difference between Weipa Family Day Care and other forms of child care is the lower educator-to-child ratio which fosters individual attention and strong relationships with one primary educator.

Weipa Community Care Association Inc. has been at the forefront of Family Day Care operating our local Scheme for over 27 years. Weipa FDC was established in June 1987. The service caters for young babies through to pre-teens and offers care and education in a safe, secure and stimulating home environment during standard hours, before/after school, during school holidays, overnight, weekends and caters for shift work requirements.

Weipa Family Day Care Educators are people whose personal qualities reflect the scheme’s philosophy, community values and culture of empathy, warmth, flexibility, professionalism and maturity. A commitment to nurturing and caring for children is a given. Educators are recruited, trained and resourced by the Coordinator, which also supports and monitors Educator Services. All Weipa Family Day Care Educators are monitored, comply with current legislation and scheme policy, are insured, have qualifications and implement the Early Years Learning Framework and the School Age Framework, within their service which sets them apart from sole careers, babysitting and nanny services.
